The street we live on empties onto a quiet frontage street that mostly carries only the traffic in our neighborhood. The sparse traffic makes this a favorite spot for local university and school kids to skateboard and play vicious games of street ball – soccer on pavement with no shoes, no shirts, and no tears. After being tempted many times to stop and grab some photos, I finally gave in after a huge spool of razor wire was stretched out in front of a small university on that street. Apparently there were going to be demonstrations of some kind (another tuition increase?), and the wire was supposed to do something. One thing it didn’t do was stop the kids from skating or playing ball. The skaters were gracious enough to let me hang out for a few minutes and make some photos.
